"Special Needs"

I just wanted to give out a website to any of you out there who may be considering going the "special needs" route from China. You can visit this new website to find out more information about some of the things that China considers "special needs". To me both of my girls are just SPECIAL because we NEED them home with us FOREVER :)

So happy to see some of you lurkers coming out and posting comments. I will really be looking forward to hearing from all of you while we are in China. I will do my part and blog, but only if you do your part and comment ;) See you soon from the other side of the world!

I guess I'm one of those lurkers! I have been following your blog for a long time. I have a five year old daughter who is also from Yongning and a two year old son from Guangdong province who was born with cleft lip/palate. So, we have a lot in common. Your children are all beautiful, and I can't wait to follow your journey as you are united with your newest blessing. Please keep a close eye on "Red" while you are in China. We lost my daughter's beloved monkey (stuffed animal) while in Hong Kong this summer. We had a new one with us just in case, but it isn't the same. Madeline still cries sometimes when she looks through our pictures from the trip and sees pictures with the original monkey before we lost it. I know you don't have time now but when you get a chance you are welcome to check out our travel blog from this past summer if you would like. It is www.theblackburnsjourney.blogspot.com. Enjoy this second journey of a lifetime! What a Christmas gift!!!

Hi Donna...I am friends with Lucy and have been following you guys for a while (since going to China to get Shelby)! I am so excited to follow along again and can't wait to see the new "family of 6" picture with Miss Faith in it. Good luck and post often while in China! :)

You are in the air, floating above this wonderful mother earth, making your way to one of her children. Amazing. I laughed at the blog just below (~~"watch out Faith ... here they come"). We are not far behind; we got our Travel Authorization today ! A glorious Chrismas and Hanukkah present. We will most likely fly out on January 1st, a great beginning for a wonderful new year. You are an inspiration to many of us. Many blessings.

Another post from your Minnesota friend, Meryl.

I have a great idea, and it involves you. I think you need to be a motivational speaker or talk-show host (perhaps for Moms ... or adoptive Moms). Isn't that a great idea? I will have some type of role on the show, but not sure what!!! Creative director perhaps? A sidekick? You rock.
