We woke up this morning and had breakfast at the hotel as usual. Ian is not a picky eater, he doesn't over eat, or hoard food. His favorite is watermelon (like my Shelby's in China).
After breakfast Kobe arrived and we went to the park to try
out the new whip that Kobe made for Travis.
He made the whip for the spinning top game called “monkey” here in
China. The boys love it. Next we fed the birds in the park. Ian will share the bird food freely and even
offers to give everyone some. He is a
sweet boy.
Next we met our driver to go to the police station where we
had to do the paperwork for Ian’s passport to be issued. It was crazy there in the station with all
the adoption families. We left there and
had the driver to drop us at a restaurant for lunch. We had a great Chinese
lunch again (forgot to take picture).
Travis is getting really good using only chop sticks. I am the only one who asks for a fork!
We left to meet Kobe’s mom at another park. I had requested to meet her since I knew she
must be an incredible lady to have raised such a kind son. She was just as I suspected, and very nice
person. We chatted in the park since she
knows English, and the boys played. It
was very neat to talk to her. She is a
foster mom now and loves the orphan. She
wanted to make sure that I was a Christian woman so that I would promise to
teach Ian about Jesus. I assured her
that I would. I really enjoyed our
visit.
When we left the park, Kobe could not find us a taxi. So….we went adventurous!! Started out on the bus, then moved on to a
motorcycle taxi-haha. I know my husband
is having a coronary now reading this. I
took a few pics to show just how crazy the motorcycle driver was and how close
they get to other moving cars. Needless
to say, we are officially crazy here in China.
Hey when in Rome…
Great day so far for sure.
Kobe just left and I am going to take the boys to the swimming pool
again. Who knows what the evening might
bring?!?!?

Ian and Travis look like they've known each other their whole lives! great to see he has such a great brother and friend! can't wait for Ian to meet the rest of his family! never imagined he'd be smiling so much that fast! and I love that its the 'chinese' lady making sure you'll teach him about Jesus!!
It's sounds as if it couldn't be going any better. So many answered prayers! Love to see all those smiles! Lots of love from the Gruskins.
What a great trip you are having!!! I KNOW the talk with Kobe's mom was amazing!!! Right from the mouth of a Chinese mom... priceless!!! God is so good to bless you in such a great way and to know she is there living for Jesus!!! SO GOOD!!! LOVE every single photo~ you are doing well!!! Blessings and love! XO
What an awesome Blessing Kobe is. What an amazing way for Ian to make the transition to your family. Someone he knows and trusts hanging out with you and coming back again each day. A nice way to slowly get him used to all the big changes ahead. What a God-ordained blessing he is to you.
Donna: I just found out my friend here knows someone who will be G'zhou at the same time! Look for a cute little boy (looks like he is 3 or 4) named Josiah. The Dad is the only parent traveling. They are from Louisiana. If you get this message, are you going to see Ann in G'zhou? Can you get me some black pearls? I will pay you double what you pay. I want VERY shiny freshwater pearls, about $20 worth, all different shapes as long as they are shiny (lustrous) and not too bumpy. Thanks so much my friend!!!
Well your husband isn't the only one having a coronary. I would like all three of you back in ONE piece thankyouverymuch!!! Hugs!
I am loving your adventures!!! And keep enjoying them. I was quite adventurous with getting Gracie. We just got out and did what the locals did. It was fun and liberating. Nothing is going to happen in China!!!
Ian is adorable!! I am so happy for you guys!!!
