Real Life

Ian had his first meltdown this morning.  He woke up at 5am and I laid down in his bed with him indicating that he needed to go back to sleep.  He started crying after about 10 minutes of laying there with me.  He cried softly for about an hour this morning :(  I think the reality of his new life is finally settling in.

I realize we have been enjoying the "honeymoon stage" so far.  It is tough to see him sad and grieving his previous life.  I know it is for the best for him to have a family and a future here with us, but it is still hard to know that I took him away from his culture and country.  Please pray for his heart and our family during the transitions to come.

I'm sure each day will get better. Even adults have trouble adjusting to new surroundings. He is so cute and will soon be feeling like part of the family. Blessings

Oh this broke my heart. The silent cry is the worst...it is so heart wrenching! Poor baby. I will pray for all!

Oh I remember Gio doing the same thing. It broke my heart for his broken heart!!! I think for Gio the language barrier once home was frustrating for him as he is VERY smart and not being able to fully communicate was frustrating for him.

It will all meld together in its own time. Thankful he is home with you!! And oh how I love my Gio, adopting older can be so special!

Donna-

It looks like Ian fits right in! I love the pool pictures.

Sorry to hear about the grieving...I find it so hard not to cry right along with JinJin.

I'm sorry we didn't get to spend more time together in Guangzhou. I wanted to thank you for checking in on us while I was sick. Just knowing you were here was such a great comfort!
