There have been SO many miracles surrounding this adoption. Every time I tell a piece of Ian's story I am reminded over and over again just how many times God has shown his presence in this adoption.
I truly believe this adoption will be the HARDEST thing our family has ever done. I think it will be tough on everyone in our entire family. Days will be long, weary, sad, and just plain tough in the beginning. And by beginning, I mean the entire first year. I am not going into this adoption with rose colored glasses on, I know it will be tough.
I also know that this is 100% without a doubt what God wants for our family. This child is most definitely been hand picked by God to come live with our family. Sometimes I get a bit overwhelmed when I think of all the "signs" from God we have experienced over the last 7 months surrounding Ian's addition to our family. (Will post later all of the signs) It makes me really wonder what Ian's future looks like, as I know God has some big big plans for him.
Knowing that this is what our family is supposed to do makes this adoption "easy" to enter into. I may be scared to death to board that plane next week, but I know God has got my back on this one, I know without a doubt this is what I am supposed to do-easy or NOT. I am firm believer now that God does not call the equipped, but He equips the called. I will most certainly be looking to Him to get our family through this in one piece...one forever family.
Another Recovery Update
-
I am on the recovery struggle bus - still.
I might not be in a boot anymore, but I am still not even close to where I
want to be in the healing departmen...

Ian is TRULY from God to your precious family. Can't wait to follow you there and watch this miracle unfold!!! You are in my prayers!!! XOXO
WOW - it's really almost time for you to get on the plane! The Newton's are so excited for Ian's future and the beginning of his great life adventure. God sure picked a perfect family for him! He will always be surrounded by support and love and acceptance and several partners ready and waiting to commit outragous acts of mischeviousness!
Once again praying you through it all, the great, the good, the hard, and difficult. God is in control and can cover it all.
I know what you mean about seeing God's hand in the details. I've been reading about your lovely family for a short while now. We may be boarding a plane for China next week too (1st adoption). You're right- He'll equip and prepare us for what He wants us to do. Thanks for the encouragement!
You've braced yourself very well. You are as fully prepared as it's possible to be. I hope you find reality as easy as I did when I adopted my daughter. I am still amazed at how easy it was and how well we got along from the start and have continued. Yes, you have other children in your family and she was my first, but you really know what you are doing and I am praying for you all, even Kobe, since he might find a hole in his life once Ian is gone.
Praying for you and your family! You are all so blessed to have each other! I pray for a smooth transition! A wise woman told me: Prepare for the worst, expect the best! I want only the BEST for you :)
Here for ya during the turbulence! Just remember the final destination will be so worth it!!
Can't wait for you to board this next adoption plane!
Hi Donna,
We look forward to following your journey. Tell Ian that his friend An Linhong-Makenna is excited to see him come to the US! If you need anything let us know!
